Solutions Boost For Power-Strapped Property Owners In SA

With loadshedding on the horizon for the foreseeable future and increasing concerns about water supply in many metros, property owners - particularly in the non-residential space - are under pressure to find solutions.

Malcolm Horne, Group CEO of Broll Property Group, says the increasingly challenging landscape has called for more innovative and progressive thinking in the property space than ever before.

Broll has launched an Energy, Water, and Sustainability (Broll EWS) service line, with a focus on helping clients navigate new regulations and become more resilient in the face of looming power and water cuts.

In addition, the business has introduced a soft services division, Broll Solutions Specialists, focused on cleaning, landscaping, pest control and hygiene, with a view to offering its clients the full range of business solutions.

“Resilience and flexibility will pave the way for future growth,” says Horne. “In this environment, corporate leaders are seeking out partnerships for the long journey ahead. The Broll EWS and Broll Solutions Specialists divisions are examples of how we’re looking at real-time solutions to addressing market needs.”

Mitesh Bhawan, Managing Director of Broll EWS says his division is well positioned to assist clients in improving the overall productivity of their built environments, from minimising energy spending and reducing operating costs; to creating automated processes to ensure correct billing and re-charging of accounts (smart metering); and coming up with mitigation strategies to reduce the risks associated with energy scarcity and optimise asset maintenance via proactive data, amongst others.

“Ultimately, Broll EWS is setting itself up as an advisory service aimed at accompanying its customers in property and facilities management on their sustainability journeys,” adds Bhawan.

Brian Lewis, Managing Director of Broll Solutions Specialists says his division brings soft services into the Broll Property Group fold. “In this way, the business is able to offer its clients a wide range of services, without them having to sign contracts with multiple service providers.”

Horne says Bhawan and Lewis have many years of experience in their respective fields. “Given the complexities involved in navigating a deepening energy crisis, our new offerings present a timely solution aimed at helping property owners build resilience in a more sustainable manner.”
